Astronomy activity

• Perseid evenings at ASTROLab are evenings to observe the famous meteor shower, featuring special presentations, telescope sky watching, and mood music. Bring your deck chairs and blankets to spend the night with us.

Program

• Activities at the foot of the mountain (ASTROLab)
• Multimedia presentation about the Perseids (Length: 40 minutes) The activities are conducted in French.
• Outdoor naked eye and telescope sky gazing (weather permitting)
• Nighttime hike (weather permitting)
• Projection of images and discussions about astronomy (interactive cosmos) The activities are conducted in French.
• Activities at the summit of the mountain (Popular Observatory) Summer 2025 : there will be no activity on top of the mountain. The activity takes place at the foot of the mountain. The summit site is under construction and is not accessible.

Procedure

• Approximate length: undetermined. Your activity begins with a show on the Perseides (in French) and is followed by observation if the sky is clear. The activities are conducted in French.

Don't forget

• Warm clothing (coat, toque, gloves).
• Folding chair, covers, and sleeping bags (for outdoor sky gazing)

Rates

Taxes and park entry fee not included. Holders of an Annual Québec National Parks Card benefit from a 15% discount on the purchase of a ticket for an astronomy activity.
